A History of Innovation
In 1979, VLS launched its flagship journal Compendium, the first journal to feature in-depth medical review articles and the first to offer continuing education credits. It continues to set standards for editorial integrity and quality today.

Leveraging the success of Compendium, VLS introduced a number of other popular publications including Veterinary Technician, the only monthly clinical journal for this important target audience, and Veterinary Therapeutics, which puts important research in the industry on the fastest track to publication.

VLS has made its mark in a range of other venues as well:

  • In 1983, we helped establish the North American Veterinary Conference in conjunction with the Eastern States Veterinary Association. We continue to produce some of the popular and well-respected meetings for veterinary professionals.
  • We are the only company that can deliver complete FDA- and DEA-approved fulfillment services to the veterinary industry.
  • The VLS Professional Service Center is staffed with a specialized team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, giving you more peer-to-peer leverage than any other company.
